Joint City Council/Planning Commission study session scheduled
The joint study session on April 28 with the City Council and the Tacoma Planning Commission will begin with a presentation from the Planning Commission and Community and Economic Development staff on the recommended changes to the zoning classifications and development regulations for designated mixed-use centers. Following the joint session, members of the Council are scheduled to receive an end-of-year update for the 2007-2008 biennial budget, information for the first quarter of 2009 and a revised 2009-2010 forecast for General Fund revenues and recommended actions.
The Council will not take public comment during the noon study session in the Tacoma Municipal Building North, 733 Market St., Room 16. Audio from the session will be broadcast live on TV Tacoma and on www.tvtacoma.com. On-demand audio archives are available on the Web within 24 hours of the meeting at www.tvtacoma.com.

Council to consider resolution regarding loan for Harold E. LeMay Museum
City Council members are scheduled to consider a resolution April 28 to consider authorizing the submittal of an application to the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development for a $3.5 million Community Development Block Grant Section 108 loan to assist with the development of Phase I of the Harold E. LeMay Museum. The loan proceeds will be leveraged with New Markets Tax Credits (NMTC), a conventional loan from US Bank and equity to build Phase I of the Harold E. LeMay Museum on a site provided by the City of Tacoma near the Tacoma Dome.

2009-2010 Annual Action Plan public hearing scheduled
The City Council is scheduled during its April 28 meeting to hold a public hearing on the 2009-2010 Annual Action Plan of the Consolidated Plan for Housing and Community Development. Each year, the City receives federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnership (HOME) - including American Dream Downpayment Initiative (ADDI), and Emergency Shelter Grant (ESG) funds from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). These funds are to be used for housing community and economic development activities and for human services as spelled out in the Annual Action Plan of the Consolidated Plan. The hearing will be held at approximately 5:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers on the first floor of the Tacoma Municipal Building, 747 Market St.
